No MIDI ports in Win 7 X64

I can't seem to get Windows to find the drivers for the Midi ports on my EMU APS. I have downloaded and ran the install exe for the kX latest drivers for Wind7 64bit. Audio is fine but Device Manager shows the Midi ports on the APS as an "Other device" with no driver.
How do I get the Midi working?

thanks

Hi,

Don't know which model you have but there seems to be MIDI drivers at the following site: E-MU Systems - Support

according to some of their links the drivers are good for Win7 64-bit

Hope that helps,

Well, that site apparently only has drivers for their current products. I have used the kXproject drivers for my EMU APS for years (maybe 7?) because it is no longer supported at EMU. And in the past, anytime I installed the kX package the MIDI drivers just loaded right in with no problems. Now with Win7 64bit I've no MIDI even though the driver package I downloaded said it was Win7 64bit compatible.
What am I missing?

Sorry, I somehow missed this post.
Where can one find the Daniel K drivers? They don't seem to be available anywhere.

OK. I found the Daniel K drivers on a Torrent site. However they will not install driver for my EMU gameport/MIDI port. They try to but seem to be incompatible.
I don't understand why the KX drivers, which have always worked in the past, don't work for me anymore.
Surely a driver for such a basic thing as a gameport/MIDI in/out port should be a simple thing and readily available, yes? Isn't it kind of a generic type of driver/interface? I don't need the audio drivers. This all works fine.

Re: No MIDI ports in Win 7 X64

Win7 No longer supports the old 15 pin "gameport" and KX hasn't included the game port driver for the Creative cards for the last several revisions, mostly because it's not needed for MIDI to work on the Creative cards. (I don't know about the EMU cards)

Find and older version of that "gameport" driver for your card, say for XP, and try that but you may be stuck because of the 32bit/64bit deal. Most 32bit drivers won't work on 64bit OS and I doubt there's a 64bit "gameport" driver.
