Dear Community,
After installation of the latest kx Audio Driver I face a major problem. The kxmixer application (kxmixer.exe) does load on startup (visible in Task Manager), but has no visible interface! There is no service icon either. The driver itself installed correctly and I can hear sound, but have no access to any functions / options. I am using a Soundblaster Live Value (CT4760 with EMU 10k1) in an up to date Windows Server 2003 environment. The Server OS is configured as Workstation and DirectX v9.0c is installed. Here is what I found out so far: - Some users report timing issues during system startup that can prevent services from loading. A restart of kxmixer.exe or a logout and login does not resolve the problem though, so I suspect it is something else... - I noticed that in the Windows Registry the Key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/kX" has no entries, and under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software" there is not even a kX folder. Is this normal? Should there not be entries after installation or start of the kxmixer application? I tried to deactivate any AV software during start of the task and reinstallation, but the registry remains empty. In case the missing entries in the registry could be a cause, would someone be able to post the registry structure or export the key and attach it here (as .reg file)? That would be awesome! Anyone else had this problem and was able to overcome it? Any ideas anybody? Thanks you so much for your help! |
