Cubase 4 + DSP latency issue

Hi Everybody

A little query to get my membership of the kx club rolling:

On my General Purposes machine I'm using an SB0090 Audigy Card with kx Drivers. In Cubase 4 I have ASIO connections to five hardware DSP effects. ASIO latency setting is 11ms, the hardware DSP works fine but the software part is starting to crack and spit a little. If I adjust the driver latency to 16ms the hardware DSP goes crazy and plays disjointed chunks.

Where am I going wrong? How do I get the hardware DSP to work with a larger latency setting?

BTW, where can I get information on the advanced settings in the kx mixer applet (Right Click/Settings/Setup Buffers)?

Any assistance will be welcomed with gratitude.
