Hi everyone,
for my midi-based virtual organ projekt I got myself two Audigy2 ZS soundcards and installed the kx driver. (version: 5.10.00.3550 - debug OS: XP) Now I have: SB050 10k2 (cf00) and SB050 10k2 (cd00) Looks good so far and the speaker test sounds good. But only the kX software's speaker test. No sound from my desktop speakers, when trying to play music via Windows Media Player. No error messages though. Nothing. I selected the front speakers in the kx mixer, connected to the correct sound card and and all of windows speaker control switches are on and loud. Could someone please point me to the the solution? Cheers Niiskuneiti Some specifications that might help: Treibername:kX Audio Driver (Debug) Treiberdatum: Sep 18 2009 03:05:03 Treiberversion: 5.10.00.3550 - debug DB Name:none SB0350 10k2 [cf00] PCI Information: Device: 41102 Subsys: 20021102 ChipRev: 4 Karte ist '10k2' Card has MPU device Kartenmodell ist '5.1' Card is Audigy2-compatible Card HAS AC97 codec Codec name: SigmaTel STAC9721/23 3D Extension: SigmaTel 3D Enhancement Codec is 2.0 compliant Capabilities[6940] : DAC resolutions : -16-bit- -18-bit- ADC resolutions : -16-bit- -18-bit- Ext Capabilities [200]: -slot/DAC mappings- Port: cf00 Irq: 0x6(6) Playback buffer: 20a0 Record buffer: 4000 Number of AC3 buffers: 4 Tank memory: 256 kb GSIF buffer: 256 samples OS version: [2 5 1 Service Pack 3; 2 5 1 Service Pack 3; 156 148] |

Re: kX's speaker test o.k. but no desktop sound
Thank you for your answer Tyrsonswood!
Right, I checked again and got it working for both sound cards now ![]() It was just a matter of finding the correct combination of audio device used by the media player and the soundcard's speaker mode (5.1 for now). I thought I already had tried every possible combination but doing it systematically brought the solution. Now it looks simple... (well, I am a beginner with this audio thing). I can now proceed with the next steps
