Audigy 2: 5.1 + headphones
Hello,
I am quite newbie, please apologize eventually stupid question. I just bought new headphones and I can say, that sound from integer sound card is disgusting compared to my Audigy 2 ES (Newegg.com - Creative Sound Blaster Audigy ES SB0162 5.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - Sound Cards) - I expected, that modern ALC889 chip will be good enough. Anyway, my question: Is there any chance, that I use four outputs? Three for my 5.1 speakers and one for headphones. If there is, how could I achieve it? Thanks very much for advice. -- I stupidly bought new MB with only one PCI slot (and three PCIe x1). Otherwise I would plugged in old SB Live 5.1. But in this case, I dont want buy new sound card, which cost double price as my new headphones. |

Re: Audigy 2: 5.1 + headphones
No (unless you have an Audigy 2 drive), you only have 3 (stereo) analog outputs (i.e. 3 DAC's).
If your headphones do not have a headphone/speaker switch, then you will have to manually swap connections between your front speakers and your headphones (and adjust kX speaker settings as necessary). Last edited by Russ; Nov 10, 2010 at 11:52 PM. |

Thanks for answer. 3 DAC will be enough for me, but as you say, I need four analog outputs.
But thanks to you I come out with idea speaker/headphones switcher. Unless, in my country it will be a little problem get that kind of switcher. |
