Changing input to output

Hi, I am total newbie in this area and this might be really stupid question but anway.
Is it possible to change input port to output port?

I have Audigy4 SE (http://www.pakwheels.com/forums/atta...5073152100.jpg) and I have all 3 output ports used by speakers and I would also like to jackin headphones. How could I do it using kx?

Re: Changing input to output

No, it is not possible. Analog inputs and outputs use completely different hardware (ADC -vs- DAC), and the card does not have any extra DAC's (which would be necessary to be able to add extra outputs, etc.).

If you are just looking for a way to swap between speakers/headphones without having to disconnect/connect the wires, then you might try something like this.

Re: Changing input to output

So even that last output/input which is digital (3,5) is useless in this case ?

Right, it outputs (when used for output) a digital signal. In order to hear that signal, it needs to be connected to an external device that has it's own digital to analog converter (DAC).
