hi everyone
this is my very first post on this forum. my experience of kx is quite limited as i only started using it yesterday and after about 4 hours of trolling through forum posts and playing with settings i have managed to sort a few things out yet im having some problems regarding inputs. i am running... kx driver 3549 audigy 4 pro (SB0380) windows xp sp2 intel pentium 4 2.8GHz 1 lonely GB RAM my problim is that i cannot route any inputs to any DAWs that i have tried (ableton 8.1- kristal-audacity). i have checked all inputs are unmuted and i can hear the signal clearly through my moniters when i connect a mic the DSP does confuse me but it looks ok to untraind eyes idealy id like to be able to use the 4 inputs on the breakout box for simultanious multitrack recording any help or ideas would be very much appreciated |

Re: kx noob looking for help
ASIO recording uses the prolog plugin (and the Ins and Outs page of kxmixer) and the epilog plugin.
It is simply a matter of unmuting the input (Ins and Outs page) you want to use, and connecting it to the ASIO connections you would like to use on epilog (or trace it's current connections (e.g. in the default DSP config) to see which ASIO channels it is currently connected to) and choosing those channels for input in your DAW. Note: Make sure your DAW's sample rate is set to 48000. e.g. Here is an example for Line In 2: Unmute the Line In 2 slider on the Ins and Outs page of kxmixer and set volume to 0 dB (adjust later as necessary). Open kX DSP and find the prolog plugin. Use the tooltips (hold mouse cursor over the pins of the prolog plugin) to locate the pins associated with Line In 2 (they are typically in the same order as you find them at the bottom of the Ins and Outs page). Trace the connection (or make you own connections) from the pins that you found (above) to epilog (drag prolog close to epilog and line up the connections to make tracing easier). Use the tooltips of epilog to figure out which ASIO channels the pins represent. Choose the above ASIO channels (kX In) for input on the track that you want for Line In 2 in your DAW. Note: With the default DSP config, you may want to disconnect the connection between prolog and xrouting (if you do not want to monitor the signal in the DSP (and your speakers) before it goes to the DAW). Re: kx noob looking for help
You did not show the Ins and Outs page of kxmixer, and you did not state which specific input(s) you are trying to use with the above config, so it is hard to give any specific help (or confirm whether or not kX is configured correctly, etc).
Your inputs look to be connected to ASIO 4 through 15 (Note: kX numbers the channels starting with zero (0-15))... but again, I do not know which specific input(s) you are trying to use, so... I do not have Ableton, and I do not know any specifics about it (and I do not know if you are familiar with it), but typically you would go into the input config and make sure that (at least) the inputs that you want to use are enabled (do the same for the outputs). Then (typically) you would add a track, and in the track settings, you would select which of those inputs should be used by that track, and then arm the track for recording.
