This seems to be the #1 place on the entire internet for older creative cards.
I am aware that your kX drivers DO NOT support Extigy There are custom drivers that work with Win7 but ONLY on 32-bit systems Windows accepts the card as a USB audio device and I can play back music no problem. The problem is: THE MIDI PORTS DO NOT WORK Yes I have ruled out the cable. I have my Roland V-Drums TD-4S connected to it and multiple DAW's do not see it. Before shelling out the money for a new interface that has MIDI in I thought I would come here to see if anyone has any solutions. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Extigy + Win7 x64 + MIDI. Hours of research has led me here.
I just bought a new computer win7x64 and have an Extigy as well that I'd like to use the MIDI ports to drive a vocal harmonizer. I'll continue to look as well for an answer.

I don't think it's possible unless someone does custom ASIO that supports it specifically. thats what ive gathered from hours and hours of searching

Re: Extigy + Win7 x64 + MIDI. Hours of research has led me here.
Does the Extigy use a gameport for MIDI I/O too?
Microsoft removed gameport support in newer versions of Windows (anything newer than XP 32 bit). kX MIDI I/O functions without the need for a gameport driver, but I do not think that is the case with the Creative Labs driver. If you search the Creative Labs forum, you will find that some people found ways to get the gameport working with Vista (though I do not know if that included MIDI I/O). e.g. Creative Game Port - Page 2 - Creative Labs And there was the gameport support pack made by daniel_k. Gameport support pack for Vista 32-bit (x86), upda... - Creative Labs daniel_k’s SB Audigy Series Support Pack 3.5 (10/11/2009) No More Goat Soup I do not think the above pack supports external models (and again I am not sure if it enabled MIDI I/O), but maybe you can find something similar for your card... |
