MX8 desktop shortcut
Hi.
Is it possible to create a windows shortcut of KX DSP plug-ins? I would like to know if it is possible to have a shortcut of MX8 ProFX plug-in at windows desktop. I would want direct access to MX8 without opening KX Mixer and then KX DSP. Last edited by blitter2; Apr 7, 2011 at 09:45 PM. |

Re: MX8 desktop shortcut
No, but there are some other options (which avoid having to open kxmixer, etc):
1) There is Lex's Quick Launch DSP utility, which will open the DSP window. 2) There is the "K" button in the tweak windows for ProFX plugins, that can be used to open the tweak window for other plugins (i.e. if you leave the tweak window open for any of the ProFX plugins, you can use it to open the tweak window for other plugins, etc). 3) There is the kX (system tray) icon "Double Click" option, which can be set to open the DSP when you double click on the kX icon in the system tray, etc. 4) There is the "Effects" sub-menu within the context menu for the kX icon in the system tray, which can be used to open the tweak window for any loaded plugins (i.e. Right click on the kX icon, go to the "Effects" sub-menu and choose MX8). 5) There is my PluginQL addon (currently only available for 32 bit versions of kX) which can (among other things) open/close the tweak window for plugins using hotkeys. BTW: PluginQL already has the ability to be controlled remotely (for kX Automation support), so, it would be simple to create an small program that could control it from a desktop shortcut, etc. Last edited by Russ; Apr 8, 2011 at 05:04 PM. |

Re: MX8 desktop shortcut
Hopefully not to confuse the issue and the intent of the original post, but... Why is it that "peak" will stay open, even after shutting down and restarting windows, but none of the other plugins will?
(more of a question for Russ than anything, related, but stealing the thread)

All plugins do that for me.

Re: MX8 desktop shortcut
Yup, any plugin windows that are open when kxmixer exits, are re-opened next time kxmixer is started (even after reboot, or full shutdown/power-off/cold boot).

Re: MX8 desktop shortcut
I guess the problem is you have tweaked your windows (voluntary or not) to kill at shutdown the processes if the don't shut down within a timebase. This will cause the kxmixer process to be killed and it cannot save the settings. Try closing all open plugins, exit manually the kx mixer, then start it again and see if they will open again or not.
