Audigy 2 ZS breaking down?
Hi everyone, this is my first post and first of all I would like to thank Eugene for all of his hard work. I love the KX driver, and I can't imagine being without it. It just makes the card come alive!
![]() Years ago, I had an SB Live! card that I think had busted caps, it would work fine for a while, but after a couple of hours use just drop out and die. A couple of weeks ago, my Audigy 2 ZS began to drop out, it would work fine, but then all playback would stop. A reboot would usually solve it. I tried putting it in a different PCI-slot, but Windows (7) would just blue screen on me. I took out the card and had it laying on the shelf for a couple of days, being stuck with the horrible built-in sound. Today, I just couldn't take it anymore, so I cleaned off the Audigy PCI connectors with some rubbing alcohol, and well, it seems to work. I examined the card thoroughly, but couldn't find any busted caps. Is my card dying or could it be that the connectors just needed to be cleaned off?? Have any of you guys had any similar problems with your cards? I really hope the card isn't dying, since it seems to be difficult to find a new one where I am :/ |
