Recover DSP settings from soundcard

Hi,

I'm in the following situation:

I've got a PC with an Audigy 2 ZS card, Win 7 and kX driver Version 3550.
Recently my HDD crashed and unfortunately I didn't make backups of the soundcards DSP settings, which are very important to me.

So the question is if there is any possibility to recover the DSP which still should be stored on the soundcard itself.
I'm just not sure what will happen, when I reinstall the kX driver. Will the driver reset the DSP on installation or is there any possibility to prevent it from doing this and instead recover the DSP?

Thank you in anticipation.

Re: Recover DSP settings from soundcard

To reset to the default settings, right-click in an empty place in the DSP and select re-initialize.

EDIT:

If you made a custom DSP setup and lost the file, you will have to make that setup again.

A good practice is to save your DSP setups to a drive other than the C drive (or drive Windows is installed on.) That way, if you have to reinstall Windows, you still will have your custom DSP setups saved to another drive.

Thanks for the answer, but thats not what I want to do.

I want to read the DSP settings out of the soundcard and not reinitialize the DSP.

Re: Recover DSP settings from soundcard

You can read my edit in the post above for a good idea, but as far as I know, doing what you want to do, which is "I want to read the DSP settings out of the soundcard," well, that's not something that can be done.

AW: Recover DSP settings from soundcard

Thank you for the hint, of course I should have saved the DSP settings somewhere else or have made a backup - but I didn't so I need a possiblity to recover the settings (the HDD is totally broken, no chance to recover any data from it).

Ответ: Recover DSP settings from soundcard

Well, soundcard (incl. DSP) is completely reset as soon as you turn of the power and/or initilze PCI sub-system (when computer boots). So no, that's impossible - there're no settings simply.
(And even if there were - it's also practically impossible to convert low-level registers values (the settings inside card) back to high level driver/mixer/plugins settings).
