CT4830 front panel connectors? Or use both soundcard and onboard togather?
So I have a CT4830 which is quite an old sound card that I am using on a older PC. I was trying to figure a way to connect my front panel "headphone jack" and "mic" to it. So far I haven't had any luck figuring things out.
![]() Is there anyway I can have my front panel working so when I can use my headphones? my mobo has AC97 built in audio that has front panel connection pins. Or is there any way I can probably use Kx Mixer to use both the AC97 built in audio and the sound card together? ![]() This is the card http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...g?t=1254789227 |

AFAIK, there is no easy way to make use of your front panel audio with that card. Some card models (some Dell OEM models, some Audigy 2 models, others?) have a 10 pin white connector/header that would probably work for that, but your card does not appear to have that.

^^
Correct. The problem is the old cards "pin-outs" are digital, not analog except for the ones Russ mentioned. The only option would be to check around sites like eBay, or similar, for the old original Live!Drive (not Live!Drive II or higher). That would give you the front bay for heaphone and what not, but people want too much for it. For the price they are asking you may as well buy a new card that has a front panel header. |
