Kx Mixer Wave keeps dropping
Hi everyone! I was just fine tuning the kx mixer with my CT4830 in Win XP and suddenly realized that the Wave keeps dropping automatically. First if you leave it at 100% and close the kx mixer, and then when you open the mixer again the wave has dropped to around 30%. and closing and opening the mixer once more and the wave is at 10 - 20%. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
I have tried the 3550 and 3551 drivers. Is this a bug? what is then the best version of kX mixer for my sound card and OS for watching movie's and playing music and such? |

Re: Kx Mixer Wave keeps dropping
Are you sure that you do not have some other application running in the background that is changing the volume?
With your card and Windows XP, there is probably not much reason to use anything newer than 3545b (most of the changes in recent versions is related to Vista/7/64 bit support, etc). |

Re: Kx Mixer Wave keeps dropping
Hi Russ , Yes I think so. I only have the latest k- lite codec pack installed which uses MPC. Thats all. Any idea what other software might cause the wave to drop in the background? Anything I should look out for?
I'll try the 3545b and see if my problem goes away. be right back

Re: Kx Mixer Wave keeps dropping
Well, MPC's volume slider would do it (assuming music is playing when it happens)...

Re: Kx Mixer Wave keeps dropping
Just tried the 3545b. didnt help. You are right, the mpc's volume slider is doing it.
Is that normal? I mean isn't mpc supposed to only lower the volume and not touch the wave? the sound quality gets very annoying when the wave is down. Is that how it's supposed to work? is there something that I need to do? thanks |

Re: Kx Mixer Wave keeps dropping
Some audio programs will use the master volume while others might use wave or synth (depending on the content they are playing, etc).
Just leave MPC set to 100% and use kX Mixer, or Windows Mixer (or the volume keys on your keyboard (if you have them)) to change the master volume instead of MPC's volume slider. |

Re: Kx Mixer Wave keeps dropping
okay will do
I used the mpc's slider since its easy with the mouse scroll button, is there any way to make mpc use the master volume instead of the wave? Oh and by the way, is 3345b the best driver for my card / os or do I need to use the latest 350 or 3551 Alpha? Would you maybe know what drivers would be best for me, least buggy and will give me the best quality.

Re: Kx Mixer Wave keeps dropping
I do not know if there is any way to change which slider MPC uses, I do not really use MPC very often (and the version I have is pretty old).
3545b is probably what you want, but if 3550 works good (or better) for you... there is no reason that you cannot use it. 3551 Alpha is a bit buggy... |
