This thing confuses me
Ok so I loaded Kxproject drivers up for my Audigy 2 soundcard, and I got it sounding good and all, but i noticed under the documents involving games that it says I would be best off setting to wave 4/5, When I set my default device to wave 4/5 in Windows 7 there is no sound.
Can someone help me? Im running the card in stereo (everything is set to stereo) and I am using the black jack on the soundcard, with the reverse setting on. If I stay on master mixer I have sound, but if i try to use any of the wave-outs I get nothing. What I am I missing? |

The others 4/5 etc. would be for the other channels in a surround situation. You are running stereo so they would not be used. (my take on it, anyways..... ) For stereo use, try SPDIF/AC3, you will get better sound than Master Mixer in many cases.

So why does it say if your having problems in games to use wave 4/5? A few other small questions: *On the new alpha drivers, I cant seem to open the ASIO control panel *How do I set the soundcard for 24bit output and such? Heres hoping this thing works with my games better than last time, I had alot of audio trouble in game (missing sounds, delayed, and such) Anyways got it set to AC3. |

Re: This thing confuses me
That info is from older versions of kX. Wave 4/5 used to be (routed as) stereo front, but is now (routed as) stereo rear (so in a stereo only setup, you would not hear anything from Wave 4/5 unless Surrounder is set to downmix). The equavalent setting in recent kX versions would be Wave 2/3 (SPDIF/AC3 will work similairly in Vista/7).
For the ASIO control panel, try manually registering kxasio.dll from an elevated command prompt. e.g. regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\kX Project\kxasio.dll" Last edited by Russ; Sep 27, 2011 at 12:26 AM. Reason: correction |

Re: This thing confuses me
Or you can simply drag FXBusX Wave4/5 outputs to xrouting WaveL and WaveR inputs and you'll get sound with Wave 4/5 device.

Re: This thing confuses me
I finally got the ASIO control panel to start breathing again,
Played some Battlefield: Bad Company 2, not bad, need to try rainbow six vegas 2 again since it was the one I had trouble with a month ago. I guess next year need to buy that fancy soundcard creative is about to debut (dual core soundcard....wow....sounds expensive) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyways thanks for the help (I hope game support keeps getting better as I might just keep the audigy 2) |
