sb 0222 how to turn on subwoofer??

i am just setted up speaker mode 2.1 in surronder tweak, but subwoofer doesn't work(
can anybody help me?

my config:
-default driver settings
-3551 version driver
-win7 65bit system

Does your sub have it's own connection to the sound card?

If not, then bass management is done by your speaker system itself (built in crossover), and as such kX has no control over it.

If it does have it's own connection to the sound card (i.e. connected to center/lfe jack):
Set the default device for Windows to SPDIF/AC3, then open kX DSP and double click on Surrounder+ and make sure that "Use subwoofer output is enabled".

Either way, you still might want to set the default device for Windows to SPDIF/AC3, as there is a bug with the routing of stereo audio with Master Mixer.

ye, souncard support 5.1 and have sub connection (it's blackm right?)
i set the default device for Windows to SPDIF/AC3 and enable "Use subwoofer output" , but anyway sub does'nt work.
maybe problem is really with the routing of master mixer

The analog center/lfe jack would be orange.

i.e.
Front = Green
Rear = Black
Center/LFE = Orange

BTW: If your speaker system does have a separate connection to the sound card for the sub (AFAIK most 2.1 systems do not), it may have the wrong pinout (e.g. would probably be mono on a 2.1 speaker system, and the jack is stereo), so you may need an adapter (e.g. 1/8" stereo splitter cable).

it's can't be problem with mono pinout, cause early, year ago, subwoofer work with the same configuration (i doesn't change anything)
so, i noticed intersting thing. if i turn on 'toggle route headphones to center\subwoofer mode' in master mixer, subwoofer work, nevermind enabled "Use subwoofer output" or not.
is it correctly decision of the problem?
also, turning on 'digital output only mode' letting subwooer be heard, but bad noisy quality.

Well, if the connector is mono, then it most likely will make a connection to the center channel in the jack of the sound card, and the LFE channel will be shorted to ground. In 2.1 mode there is no center channel, so (under these circumstances) you would not hear anything from the sub.

Try swapping the center and LFE connections between Surrounder+ and epilog.

Also make sure bass management is enabled in Surrounder+, and adjust the crossover frequency as desired.

Well, basically - i guess the key here is "use Bass Redirection, Luke". Note that "Use subwoofer output" option only enables a LFE/Sub channel (*if any*) of the source audio to be played to the Sub output. Do the files you play have any Sub channel? (regular stereo/mp3/cd/whatever sound sources have no). If you want your subwoofer to buzz for any sound you play regardless of it's format enable "Bass Redirection".

"Use subwoofer output" does not enable/disable the output itself, it's only an option to set the routing of source audio streams. (With "Use subwoofer output" turned off the LFE/Sub channels of *multichannel* audio streams are re-routed to the front output to "Do not use subwoofer output" - that's all - nothing more than that).

It appears you're trying to listen to steoreo source but want to use a sub? If so just wipe the whole DSP screen clear and build your own. Just have wav0,1 go to a xover and route the highs to one pair of outs and the sub freqencies to another. Add EQ in the line if you want, reverb etc. The biggest issue, as I see it, is the darn default setup. way to much there.

It's actually the thing I'm trying to do. Sub works with speaker mode 2.1, using sub output and with bass redirection. Changing rear and front in Mixer is not enabled. Also is not enabled output headphones via center/sub (if enabled sub also works but the range of frequences is more wide, imho. Higher then 200 Hz)

So, would you be s kind to clear this words
