3533b IR enable

Hello

I've been using the Kx drivers for a over month now,
Excellent results and no problems to boot.
Supurb ethos and craftwork

My question is with the IR enable feature of this release 3533b.
How to use it. Can midi cc's be sent via this method and easiest
way to set up this kinda device.

I'm interested in building a footswitches to use with eg. amplitude
via seria port connection.

My IR stopped working after KX3532.... Are you able to use it 'at all' with 3533???

the Remote IR should work correctly with all the releases... especially 353x ones
if it doesn't - let me know

it should [at least] reacto to vol+ / vol- / mute / start / eax buttons
it also should generate MIDI SysExes [but some of the might get filtered if kxmixer is active]

Well, the only thing I'm able to achieve with Remote IR is bring the DSP window by pressing "EAX".

It only works once, and after that, I have to close and restart the Kx mixer to get it to work again. I'm using 3334b, and I never tried Remote IR with the other 353x versions.

Volume and mute does not work, nor is there any screen notification.

With my A1 platinum EX, IR is ok for all the functions volume, mute, Winamp... Except Windows Media Player which doesn't work with it (it's a french version).

Strange that you mentionned this. Most of my software (including Win2000) are french versions. Could this be the problem? In what language is the reminder of your applications?

vol+ / vol- / mute should work correctly for any windows version

make sure you have the following checkboxes set in the 'settings' submenu:
'Remote IR Enable', 'On Screen Display Enabled', 'OSD Notifications'

if you are still experiencing problems, download and install the monitor (http://kxdev.narod.ru) and watch its output when you press any RemoteIR buttons...

Sorry, I've just found the 'readme' or install instructions... The monitor is working now as it shows messages about KX (like when I open ASIO control panel and change settings). Pressing the IR buttons does nothing. The monitor has no reaction to it. So I traded the batteries for new ones, openned the remote and cleaned it and still no luck...

have you set the 'Remote IR Enable', 'On Screen Display Enabled', 'OSD Notifications' options? (just to be sure

)
and, btw, try running 'kxctrl -dbr' (this will reset your drive)

if this doesn't solve the problem, try re-installing any previous release that was known to function correctly
post your 'help...about' info both for your not working and working configurations

Yep, all those options are selected. I tried resetting the drive as you suggested but it didn't solve the problem. I'll install an older, working version and see what happens. Anyway, here is the "about" of my current setup:

Well, I redownloaded and installed version 3528. Remote didn't work with that version too... So I suspected again that there was something wrong with the remote itself. I have one learning remote control, from my receiver, and I set it up to learn signal from the creative's remote. It received the signals just fine, so the problem was not with the remote. I then opened my computer's case and unplugged and plugged again the livedrive connection to the power supply and to the live card. Still, no remote working....

For the past week or mor i've been timed out .
Whats with that ? does anyone know whether the site has been down?

Ok. re IR i haven't tried it yet, but will an ordinary
serial ir port and any old controller work?

or

does it have to be a creative one,
linked to the live drive 2 ? (i'm guessing)
