Can't install KX Project Drivers past v3533b - "Error Selecting Device"
Help! I'm trying to test v3534b and v3534c to see if the AC3 Passthru problem is resolved, however I can't get past an error that says: "Setup Error - Error Selecting Device".
My Audigy2 card is identified as an SB0240 This happens in the following circumstances: 1. Trying to install v3534b directly after uninstalling the Creative drivers 2. Trying to install v3534c directly after uninstalling the Creative drivers 3. Trying to install either v3534b or c after successfully installing v3533b 4. Trying to install either from WindowsXP Safe Mode (manual install) A message that comes up when trying to install the v3534x drivers over the v3533b driver that: "Setup has detected existing kxdriver install [5.10.3533 - debug]. It's recommended to unistall completely before continuing. Do you wish to do that (recommended)?" If selecting yes or no, I get the same error "Setup Error! Error Selecting Device". It then asks me if I want to install the KXProject Joystick driver... Each failed attempt results in the Creative drivers (v5.12.1.283) being forcibly installed (without my blessing)... I've done a search in this forum for "Error Selecting Device" and received 0 hits. Seems like I'm the only one with this problem... Can anyone on the Dev team tell me what may be the problem? I've also tried renaming the 2 files in the Driver Cache and Inf directories with no luck. I'm in the process of preparing a new Ghost image and really want to include the KXDrivers. The only thing I must ensure is proper AC3 Passthru functionality - and I'm hoping v3534b and v3534c will do the trick... Please help! Thanks, Kwake |

1. make sure you have the 'driver signing' OS feature turned off (Control Panel -> System -> Hardware)
2. if this fails, install manually by clicking 'update driver' (in the Device Manager) and browsing to your kX Project folder with 3534 files unpacked ['Program Files\kX Project\3534'] /Eugene |
