KX, SB Live & Seperate inputs
I think I've just seen the answer to my question in the KX signal flow diagram but I'd like to post it incase I'm wrong:
All input channels are mixed down to two channels for any sort of recording, its impossible to record more than two isolated channels simultaneously. Is that right? I'm hoping to be proved wrong but I thought my live drive would give me more input channels to use with PD. I'm wishing I'd looked into it a bit further now Cheers folks, Dougie |

That's right if you're only considering the AC97 part or the sb live. But, if you use a live drive, you get 2 extra anlalog mono inputs plus 1 digital input. If you use live drive II or IR you get 4 extra mono inputs plus 1 digital input. In the card itself you have a digital input also. And notice that the analog inputs on live drive's have a much lower noise floor than the inputs in the card itself. Also, if you consider the virtual ASIO inputs, you could route up to 16 different signal to them (wet, dry, wave, soundfonts etc...)
