3534 release candidate

hi there

here's 3534 release candidate (RC)
I plan to release 3534 officially this week, so, any feedback with RC is welcome till Sunday
(please test it. if you are upgrading from any 3534x releases, make sure you reset the settings completely!)

cumulative changelog (since 3533):
-------------------------------------------------
On-the-fly support for sfArk v2 files added
Fixed some issues related to WavePCM mixer slider
Fixed minor bug with the setup program under Win98SE / WinME
Fixed incorrect 'Swap Front and Rear' function while in 'Digital Output Only' mode
Improved support for multiple devices
German translation updated
Italian translation updated
Polish translation updated
Fixed real-time pitch calculation for certain card models
Added option to enable/disable real-time resonance and filter cutoff (Synth compatibility)
Added support for 44100 sampling rate for ASIO (ALPHA, <b>without recording!</b>)
Fixed bug with Cubase SX handling ASIO 44100 sampling rate incorrectly
Added option to tweak GSIF buffer size
Added option to mute speakers when headphones are inserted
Fixed bug with B2B plugins
Improved Modulation CC compatibility (VibLfoFreq Divisor in Synth Compatibility panel)
Initial support for hardware-accelerated DirectSound 3-D (attenuation and spatialization)
(In order to disable DirectSound acceleration, select 'Wave 4/5' device)
Added option to choose bank selection method (Synth Compatibility)
Fixed bug with multiple soundfonts playing simultaneously
Added option to select target Synth device on SoundFont upload
Added automation for most plugins
Fixed bug with AC-3 passthru for certain Audigy2 cards
Added 'Multimedia Properties' shortcut
Peak plugin improved
Fixed some minor issues with skin handling code

GSIF note: the 2-sec noise is not a real bug, but an issue with two real-time APIs (ASIO+GSIF) active simultaneously. it can be easily solved by changing GSIF buffer size (RC does it for you automatically)
kX DSP window: sorry, no time resizing feature won't be available in 3534
3-D audio: if you find the hardware 3-D support incorrect, please post your report to our new forum topic ('3-D Audio') with a detailed description of the bug. it is always possible to disable 3-D acceleration by selecting 'Wave 4/5' instead of 'Wave 0/1' as your preferred audio device.

http://kx.maincore.nl/beta/kxdrv3534-update.exe

full version and the SDK will be available soon

/Eugene

Downloading it right now

Thanks Eugene! It seems that you care MUCH more about us then the guys who sold us the sound cards!

I simply hope that someone from Creative will come into this forum and read this! (I doubt it as with there work they showed they do not care much)

But if by any chance one of them read this then here is what I got to say to him:

Shame on you guys! If you are not capable of giving people you sold your cards, some decent drivers then at least be a little more smart! Find Eugene and beg him to work for you!
OR Donate to KX so at least they do the job you are not able of doing!
OR At least give them info on your hardware "like for the audigy series"

Can't you understand that they are making your useless cards work like a charm! ?

Anyway I propose to all people who use KX drivers to make a petition and send it to creative and ask them to do @least one of the 3 above propositions!

"Edit" : I just installed the new drivers, Run SX and few games etc .... All working great. Thanx KX

It seems the 2-sec noise is still here. It is not only ASIO+GSIF issue, but also GSIF+DirectSound (e.g. I can hear this noise even when playing mp3 and playing in GigaStudio simultaneously).

Heh... I never expected to have GSIF on a SBLive!
You saved me 150€ - as I don't have to buy Audiophile 2496, yet.

Thumbs Up!

I wasn't aware there's an option for setting GSIF buffer (there's no mention of GSIF in help), and RC didn't reset samples to 256.
After going to Settings-> Setup Buffers -> 256 samples, no more 2-sec noise!

16-4096 samples, 32-256 worked without glitches.

Does this setting for samples affects latency? I haven't noticed any difference comparing 32 and 256 samples setting.

???

I am new to Kx drivers but i am very attracted
I have an Audigy Platinum Soundcard and Windows XP and my Gigastudio 2.5 does'nt work.
How to uninstall the Creative Drivers? How to reinstall them if I am unsatisfied with Kx Drivers?
Excuse me Eugene. I know that your work is very useful but I am not very expert and I am afraid of loosing the current possibilities even if they are not perfect.
Thanks
Francesco

Sad

Hi everyone. I'd like to say that I very much appriciate all the hard work you guys do for the kX drivers.

I'm having a weird case with the new drivers (5.10.0.3534).

1) when I open a audio channel in Cubase SX, it tells me "Record could not be enabled, because there is no input. Open the input window and enable the desired input".

I tried to open the input window in Cubase SX but it doesn't open.

Ohhh, I'm using SB Audigy Platinium.

Please help,
thanks.

>1) when I open a audio channel in Cubase SX, it tells me "Record could not be enabled, because there is no input. Open the input window and enable the desired input".

This is because you open default Cubase project with 44100 samplerate set... kX ASIO does not support recording at 44.1kHz (and this samplerate is not recommended to work with in general)...
You order to get an ability to record through kX ASIO interface you should switch Cubase (and whatever ASIO host application) to 48000 samplerate...

EEK! DVD problems solved?

Hi there Eugene, one more time a fantastic work, i am very happy with this release because since i installed, my programs of playing DVD´s (PowerDVD and WinDVD) now works fine decoding any type of AC3 title (Music DVD or movie DVD) without to set SPDIF out.

Eugene what about this?, this release is prepared for this issues?

Thank you.

Alex

caine - i guess your model is Audigy2, right? because ver.34 has partially fixed some hardware bug of this model which causes wrong data on digital outputs (incl. AC3)

ok, i was just not too attentive reading your msg. Of fix i mentioned did not affect player's decoding (just because it can't do this)... Although it should work in previouse version too... And btw. "Spdif out" should be used untill you wnat driver or external decoder to do decoding.... Well, doh, never mind... i'm just glad to hear that now it's fine anyway...
