Use kX as single driver on multiple cards?

First; I'm sorry if this question has been answered before; searched a bit but had trouble finding any related threads.

Yesterday I made a clean installation of Win98SE and my aim is to use my two Live!-cards, one with the Aps!Live drivers and one with the most recent kX-drivers.

I disconnected/took out one of the Live!-cards, and installed the APSLive!-drivers successfully. It also works when I insert the second Live!-card. The problem however is that I can't install the kX-drivers (even manually) without screwing up the APS-drivers for the first card. As soon as they are installed for the second card, APS Mixer Control crashes at startup. As soon as I uninstall the kX-drivers for the second Live!-card, the APS Mixer Control works great again.

It seems to me that installing the kX-drivers occupies both Live!-cards, even if I only install them for one of the cards. (in this example; the second live!-card) Can I install the kX-drivers withouth having the drivers affecting both of my Live!-cards? Anyone got a clue on what I am doing wrong?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I just installed my second LIve card today. I already had the KX drivers installed for my first LIve Platinum. Whenever i booted up the machine, Windows XP found the second Live Platinum and installed the windows drivers for it. I had to restart after it installed the drivers and one card was using KX drivers, the other was using the Windows drivers. It worked that way just fine. Since i am using one live for ASIO and one for GSIF i ran the KX driver setup to install drivers for the new card. It reinstalled the drivers for both cards. I wanted to install KX drivers for both cards, but i assume i could have told it no to one of the cards as it asks if you want to install the drivers for each individual card it finds.

BTW i use my computer mostly for music, but i do like to game from time to time. I have a dual boot setup (thanks to the KX forum) so that i can use KX drivers for music and Creative Drivers for games (EAX).

Good luck!
