Nosie problem/question.
I own a Audigy 2. And I have TV-Tuner wish connects to the cards line in and I always gets some noise from it and it lowers when I disconnect it. Can you manually in the kx drivers disconnect the line in so NOTHING will get trough it? Or do I need to manually disconnect the tv-tuners cable? Also if I turn upp the wolume to normal/high music wolume I can hear some low noise. I have no grounded electric jacks in the apartment and quite alot of electric cables/equpment near my computer/reciver.
So far I can probably tell myself that the low noise I hear when turning upp the wolume (with nothing playing) is normal for a non grounded computer system. But I do hope that you can force the line in to block all noise manually in the kx driver. |

You're running a computer system without a ground???
Shame on you!If you go into the DSP applet, you can "disconnect" the TV input (it's probably the "aux" input on Prolog) so it makes no noise, and you can do this in software. Or, if that's too many clicks, (it is a lot of clicks after all!) You can add a volume control (gain or gainhq) in between the aux-in and the mixer, then right-click on the kX icon in the system tray, effects, gain, and adjust it from there. Or, if you want, you can add the volume control, and then set up a MIDI event that turns it on or off. Then you could just press a button on the MIDI keyboard next to your computer to mute or unmute the TV noise. That last one is probably taking it a *bit* too seriously.

God I feel like an idiot. If I had gone trough all the dam volume controlls in the mixer tab and turned of the AC97 (as I did now) it will shutdown the line in...therefor remove the noise that bugged me. Now if I only coiuld aford money to fix the electric jackets so the other noise would vanish. But you cant get it all in life.

hehehe, good job
![]() I still think you should invest the effort to hook up a keyboard and make it all automated one button on the keyboard ![]() What part of the country are you in? I really think it needs to be illegal to have ungrounded outlets like that... but then I'm weird. Installing grounded outlets is easy, and the parts are cheap; the hardest part is finding a good ground, and that's not really that hard. Just tie it down to a metal part of your house... (As always, the standard disclaimer applies: if you forget to turn off the breaker first and turn yourself into a crispy critter, it's not my fault!) |
