Audigy2 ZS and some thoughts about kX Project

hello everybody

as some of you have probably noticed, there's been a new card released by Creative recently --
we currently cannot fully support the card without a test sample,
so, people interested in adding such support or just kX Fans can speed-up this by
investing into kX Project

I'm very grateful to those who have already sent their donations! thanks!
however, the 'cash flow' (

) is much smaller this year, compared, for example, to 2002
this is strange, since our user base has increased significantly...

even though I cannot say that kX Project is out of finances

,
however, the money we receive usually influences the amount of free time we
can spend on the project (directly or indirectly

)
this also shows us that people appreciate our work, and encourages to improve our software

I hope you've understood me correctly: our project is free(ware), and I expect it will remain free --
the question is not about the money or hardware, but about the feedback we receive:
we highly appreciate any contributions to our project: writing (or updating) translation files,
adding wonderful DSP effects or original skins, even providing us with web space!
spreading the word across the Internet or your friends about our project will be a good start!
(of course, sharing your 'powered-by-kX' music or asking the questions on our forum is
a good contribution, too)

so, I invite all our users to take part in our project -- it is up to the kX Communitee to make it flourish
or to sleep in stagnation

In September we had more than 30000 unique visitors! We can now proudly say: there is kX Communitee and it is large enough to change the world for the better!

the second reason for writing such a long post (

) was a small observation:
according to our web stats, only 10% of people read the changelog before downloading a new version of the driver;
less than 10% read the FAQ... our 'kX Fund' page was reviewed by less than 2% of the visitors.
and only appr. 2000 users have followed our request to click the 'Check for updates' button of the kX Mixer

(to help us to gather the hardware/software configuration of different SBLives and Audigies in order to
improve our driver compatibility). and, finally, only 0.01% of the site visitors have used PayPal for
investing into our project.

Reading the content of your post and it's bevindings should fill
every kX-fan with joy and saddness the same time.
Especialy the last part reveals a quality of human nature for which I am ashamed of.

I am proud to be part of kX Community and I am always willing to help with HTML help, website, testing and everythign I can do...

However, not even I can collect enough money to get myself an Audigy2 ZS to help testing it because as far as I heard, there won't be player version of the card; only Platinum and Platinum Pro (previously eX).
