BA7500g no sound

I apologize if this issue has been discussed in another thread, yet a preliminary search returned no relevant results.

I own some Boston Acoustics ba7500G speakers, digital only, yet since I upgraded my drivers from Creative AND the KX ones, I get no sound or any indication of digital output. (latest drivers as of 10.4.03)

My soundcard is a SB Live Value, from Gateway, with 4 i/o jacks and a MIDI/Gameport interface. KX reports it as CT4871, and therefore supported.

The jacks are MIC(red)/LINE in(black)/Digital out(Green)/ Analog out(black).

Enabling the DIgital output only in either CT or KX drivers yields no results. Same results with swapping the front/rear. I actually tried lots of 'clickable' combinations of settings...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, either a response or a redirect to another thread.

Thanks.

unfortunately, it seems that this version of Live! card has a unknown method of turning the digital-output-only mode 'on'
this issue was discussed in the Linux driver newsgroup (for a very long time)

we currently don't have any specification of this card -- and we aren't aware of any method for switching its output mode

I will try to ask Creative guys for any information -- but I doubt it will be given to me... at least, in the near future

/E

Crap!

I have the same problem. I was able to get them to work in XP (when they weren't suppose too) but now in Vista I have managed to get sound..... but it sounds like crap. Any ideas (short of buying new speakers)
