Using SBlive Mic/Line in

Hi i'm new to this forum and the Kx driver. Just wondering how I record using the mic/line in 2 on the front of my Live Drive. Tried plugging my guitar straight in but got no signal. Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to hook a guitar up to record. I'm using a software based preamp for distortion and the lower latency I get with this driver will be cool if I could get it to work. If anyone can help give me a shout. Cheers.
