kxmixer - cpu usage high when idle

I've searched high and low to no avail. I have the kx driver loaded on XP Pro SP1 (fully stripped and tweaked).

When the system is idle, with only kxmixer in the systray, there is a cpu usage of 27% - 32%. this is with vers. 3533 and up to 3535. When I roll back to vers. 3529 of the driver (the only one I have before 3533). The cpu usage is at about 0% - 6%.

Again this is with the system at idle with no other programs running and nothing in the background but the kxmixer. This is on a recently reformatted system:

Athlon 800 mhz
120 Seagate Barracuda
448 mb RAM
Soundblaster Live! CT4620

Any ideas?

I fixed it. I performed some registry tweaks that were suggested by someone else on this board and it solved my problem.

I thought I had it fixed. But it crept up again. Any ideas? Is everyone else's cpu usage at zero when system is idle and nothing else is active except for kxmixer in the systray?

Strange,..I have 3 total different PCs running win xp + kX drivers (used all kinda versions),
cpu usage is ~0% when idle.

I always disable ACPI in bios and during xp install, maybe it's power managment related.

Mine is running as "Standard PC". No ACPI. I'll check power management. Thanks.

I have the same problem: kx mixer increases CPU usage by some 15-20%. Furthermore, after I open kx mixer window, I am not able to shutdown Windows anymore (in a standard way :-).

Athlon 1400 MHz
256 MB RAM
Soundblaster Live! Value
kx drivers 3535
Win XP Pro
ACPI deactivated

All ideas welcomed!

Same problem as well. Task Manager shows some peaks on CPU usage every 1 second and stops when I kill the kxmixer. I also cannot fix the problem with windows shutdown, even though I installed the tpkd.
Funny thing is that all these problems started since I formated and reinstalled windows from the begining. Before that everything worked fine!

Mine is same as Daniel Drummond's. Enable-ACPI & KXMIXER 0% Usage.
