Can't get drivers installed

Hi all, i'm using windows XP on my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D laptop and want to use the kX drivers for my soundcard. It's a Soundblaster MP3+ (USB). When i run the driver package i get no new hardware or anything installed. It just says i have to reboot but that doesn't help either.
I tried it with original windows or creative drivers for my usb-soundcard, nothing works .

Any ideas?

arrow Had the same problem with a CT4830

Because I had the exact same problem with a SoundBlaster Live! Value card CT 4830 I think the following might help and perhaps Eugene could take notes here regarding his installer.

My problem occured on a win2000 system.
I had deleted the SBLive driver manually and upon running the archive it extracted, then asked if I wanted to install the drivers.
Yes.
but instead of the warning boxes that the installer said I should click yes on I was taken immediatel;y to the "In which directory are your VST plugins located" screeen and nothing was installed.
Worse, after rebooting KX told me that the card was not initialized and "Please reinstall the driver."

I tried this 3 times and the fourth time I decided NOT to delete the SBLive driver that windows automatically installs and lo and behold, now KX goes through all the steps and installs properly.

Moral of the story: Don't manually delete the SBLive drive installed by windows.

I hope this is the solution to your problem Def2k - of course I know knothing about the USB concept in Liveware so maybe I am totally off track here.
But this is what happens when the Windows driver is deleted by the user.

USB soundcards are not supporte by KX drivers. Read the FAQ.

That disclaimer was mentioned specifically to prevent that "Read the FAQ" admonisment, thank you. I generally don't read those parts of FAQs that do not pertain to my hardware but as his problem sounded exactly like mine I though I'd help him. Sorry it didn't work out.

you said:"but instead of the warning boxes that the installer said I should click yes on I was taken immediatel;y to the "In which directory are your VST plugins located" screeen and nothing was installed.", you must choose no if you don't know what is "VST".

I DO know what VST is.
Where did I give the impression that I did not?
