: Sending the signal from Cubase to mic? :
Hi all!
I've got a question:I'd like to send the audio signal from, for ex., Cubase to mic. Sounds strange but let me explain: I'd like to play my guitar to my friend through MSN. So, MSN sends the signal from mic to my friend. What I want is firstly to send the signal to Cubase, where the effects are gonna be applied and then send it back to mic output, so my friend can hear me playing + he will hear the effects I applied in Cubase. Is it possible? And if so - how? ![]() Thanx. Last edited by ACIDman; Oct 13, 2003 at 09:19 PM. |

Hmm.. I think I did it
.http://helod.etnisk-playboy.net/temp/kx_1.gif * The signal goes from the mic (1) to the last two ASIO inputs (2) * Then effects in Cubase are applied and then everything that goes out (3) goes to the mic (4).I didnt really tried it, but I think it works. Im just waiting for somebody to log on to MSN, so I can test this on them.. =) Is there any other way?

Hmm.. I hoped but I guess I'll have to record it and then render to mp3s..
It just seems to be possible - to send the signal from mic to Cubase and then to input so we get effects if we'll press recod in lets say Sound Forge (or as I want it to use - through MSN so my buddy can hear my guitar with the effects applied in Cubase). You can do what you want. Set up Cubase to output ASIO into 2 and 3 (instead of 0 and 1). Connect FXBUS 2 and 3 outputs directly to REC R and L in EPILOG and see if it works.

Thanks.. 1 sec. I'll try.
--- How can I change the output in Cubase? I've checked "Device Setup", and I have only 2 of them there (here is a pic). Last edited by ACIDman; Dec 10, 2003 at 12:24 AM. |

You can use the default output, but your friend will also hear his own voice. That's why I suggested using 2 and 3. You have to enable 2 and 3 and it's not in the place you're trying. You have to go DEVICES and then VST OUTPUTS or VST CONNECTIONS (if your Cubase is 2.1) and enable it from there. But you can always try with FXBUS 0 and 1...

I guess it works! (Sound Forge recorded all the effects applied in Cubase)
Thank you very much! |
