Can someone please give me a simple instruction for using the phase plugin to increase the bass signal. I know how to add the plugin in the DSP but I don't know what to connect it to, or how to use the plugin. A snapshot of the DSP with the phase plugin would be very helpful. Also once you have the phase plugin in your DSP how do you adjust it.
thanks, DK-1 |

Search the phorum before posting...
I always search the forum before I post.........However, most of the info I came across was very technical. I never came across your post about the phase plugin. Anyway, thanks for the information. Very helpful. Do I need to disable swap front and rear when I use the phase plugin. Can I adjust it? Thanks again for the info. Your instructions were very clear. DK-1

No you don't need to disable swap front and rear. Use the phase plugin in one of those, if it doesn't help, use it in the other one...

Helllo,
Does the phase plugin work also with an audigy2? I tried it and can not hear any difference in bass level. Thank you, |

Yes it works. Have you tried it once in each output (front and then rear)?

Hello,
Which outputs should I use? Xrouting - Surrounder or the 10 Band EQ? I have no speakers on my front hardware output of my soundcard. Thank you, Joenco |

Put it between eq and epilog. If it doesn't help with bass remove it and check if you have surrounder tweaked right or use EQ to adjust bass (you wouldn't have a phase problem then...)

Daniel,
What settings should I take in the surrounder. I have settings for 2.1 but not stereo 2 only. I must say I have good ears (professional classical musician) but I can not hear any difference between all those speaker settings in the surrounder. Should I just remove the surrounder for stereo only? Although my sound is pretty good and clear I'm looking for some more warmth, presence and clarrity without loosing the natural or realistic soundquality. (listen to classical music) I also use softsynth and I'm very happy with my 2,6 ms latency. This is great. Thank you, |

Yes, you may just remove it for stere only. Just connect the 2 first Xrouting outputs to epilog's 0 and 1 (and also 8 and 9 for rear output, copied mode (rear=front)). If you keep the surrounder, leaving 2.1 and not enabling the subwoofer check box also works (enable copy mode though).

Phase again,
Daniel and others,
Just found this about phase. basically it is the same as reversing the wiring to each rear speaker (ie changin the + to - and vv). As said above if the rear speakers and front speakers are out of phase then on mainly base notes when the speaker cone is moving out on the frontspeakers, it is moving in on the rear speakers so the sound waves cancel each other out. Is it like this? So it is normal I can not hear any difference with or without the phase plugin. It should only be used with front and rear both used. (not stereo only) Is this correct? Joenco |

Yes, that how phase works... Yes, only with 4 speakers... Well, in 2 speaker mode you could also use phase if one of your speakers had the phase inverted with the other, but that would be done in the real wires in the speaker cabinets and not in KX dsp window...
