I've recently purchased a spiffy Acer LCD monitor with built-in speakers.
I would like to use these for system beeps (for example instant message notifications) while the music, game sound etc. goes to my amplifier. For this, I could connect the rear out of my 10k2 to my amp, while the front out goes to the monitor. I assume this is possible by setting up the routings panel correctly? Does anybody here have a similar setup, and could guide me how it's done? I've been messing around in the configuration but am unable to get it working. I'm using XP Pro SP1. Thanks for your help. |

Well, all the systemsounds is sent to Default soudcard/output, and you can set that in Windows controllpanel. The music that is routed to rear output must be played in a mediaplayer that you can change the outputcard in (so you can set the rear output). Like Winamp. Windows Media Player does NOT support that. WMP playes to default card.

Yes, of course.
I'm using Winamp with advanced input and outplut plugins, which allow me to choose which soundcard to use. (I hate WMP or any other MS app for that matter) I can figure that out, but i meant what do i need to do in the kx routing panel. |
