How inputs with EMU-ASP card?
Hello! I am using my old EMU-APS card, KX drivers with Cubase SX for band practice recording (I have an extra PIII 800 512MB comp with windows 2000 pro).
I was wondering what is the max inputs you can record at once. Right now I only have 5 and I think I can have more. For instance can I use the CD input on the card (if I whipped up a input jack) for an extra in? Also I can't seem to get the front SPDIF input (coax) and the back SPDIF input (coax) to work at the same time. Is this possible? My band is metal/rock so I am looking to make this into an 8 (or 6) track at once live wave recorder (2 vocals, 2 guitars, 1 bass and drums that are mixed into one channel). This is what I have so far: EMU_APS Ins ------------------------Cubase SX --------------------------------------------------------- A1 (e-card, the back of comp)---------In3 (Why is the gain soooo low?) A2 (e-card, the back of comp)---------In4 (Why is the gain soooo low?) A3 (?) (e-drive, the front left in)-----In11 A4 (?) (e-drive, the front right in)---In12 SPDIF in-------------------------------------In6 Any help would be great! (sorry for the sloppy post.) (I do not know what the front e-drive is label as. Hence the ? mark. Is it A7 and A8?) ![]() sLAP---------> |

Hello,
i also have an APS and at first i've got to tell you that you have 8 inputs. You've got to notice that S/pdifs are stereoinputs at all. That means 2 analog+ 2 digital at the e-card as well as at the e-drive all at the same time. The gain is so low because there are no preamps on the e-card and it should be used for line-level. Actually i have no setup so i can't tell you more about the in/out relations but i will work in a few days on it. I hope this will help a little.
