It looks to me like the p16v is an input plugin for messing with 24-bit/96KHz recording from digital inputs on the Audigy 2. I'm not sure how to use it though, and I don't have a use for it myself.

P16v
Hello,
I also do not understand. I read recording and playback. Will the P16v playback 24/96 on rear out? What is the most simplest P16v record - playback routing? ( no effects or surround needed ) Thank you, BTW Eugene glad to see you back hope all is well. |

So far as I understand, the p16v plugin outputs whatever's playing on the 24/96 channel, and downsamples it to 16/48 so the DSP can handle it. It lets you process the 24/96 channel in the DSP, but of course you no longer will have 24/96 quality if you do so.

not exactly p16v plugin is used for routing 'Wave HQ' audio to the DSP that is, 'Wave HQ' data goes to the p16v chip and then to the output codecs (i2s / spdif etc...) it can also be routed to the 10k2 DSP (and this is the reason for using p16v 'plugin') -- for instance, you can add reverb review p16v/audigy2 routing guide for details ![]() /E |

yeh it would have to downsample, but most audi recordings available nowadays are still in CD format = 16bit 44100hz, so all this 24/96 stuff atm is just hype to try and sell products, i can see in 5 years or so CD gettin replaced, but for now 16/44100 is acceptable

not exactly: the original sound (the one going thru Wave HQ) is not resampled / modified
however, if you wish to add reverb, the sound, redirected to the DSP, is resampled (16/48), processed at 24/48 and is re-mixed again with the original 24/96 signal /E |

makes sense, even though the effect is downsampled, the original signal stays the same⦠may be useful in ASIO apps
