More analog inputs without LiveDrive?

Hello all,

What's the maximum number of inputs I can have without a Livedrive? I currently have the Rear Line In and the Aux In and CD In on the card avalible (I've made a little phono connection to access these). I know I can't use all three of these at once as they are all AC97, but is it possible to connect to some of the pins used by the livedrive instead of the Aux In And CD In?

Any help would be greatfully recived.

My card is the SB0001.

Cheers
Ben

Hi again man

You mean analog ins

I asked one question many times but still have no answer

There is i2s in connection on aud_external connector.
Does it work for extra line in and extra separate track insequencer
People without livedrive could record and extra stereo track or 2 extras mono

Infortunately I can't test this
May be you could

The answer is here :

And if you want more inputs with a single card and if you have an AUD_EXT connector on your card: try to get external analogue to SPDIF converters or consumer recorders (MD/CD/DAT) and use optical interfaces - so you are able to get up to 6 extra ins (3x stereo) for multitrack recording. The in and out circuitry can be found at:

www.electricstart.de (electronics)

Greetings!

System Specs

to use the I2S input, you have to have an ADC that converts to th Inter IC Sound, i emailed the manufactureres of the I2S DAC on the live, Philips, and they said that using the IC requires alot of circuitry or somethin alongthose lines, but if you can get a simple converter, then you are in luck. But i think you also need clock sources for I2S, check with the pinout for AUD_EXT in the hardware help file for the live, i seem to have lost mine…
