Four speakers won't output simultaneously
I have a 4.1 speakerset here on a Creative SBLive! audiocard (1st generation, CT4620), but can't get the four speakers to output audio simultaneously. I used the Quadrophone preset at the speaker setup dialog and it has been set like this in Windows, too. Sample rate converting and Hardware acceleration are set to their maximum as well.
The strange thing though, is that the test sounds of the Speaker test dialog output their sound correctly. It's just that WinAMP simply seems to have problems routing the audio to all four speakers or something. IT even gets weirder, now that the reverb and chorus effects actually DO get out through the rear speakers; but without effects, it remains silent. By the way: the chorus effect sounds really broken here. Who could help? I'm using build 3536. |

Ok, so do you expect to hear sounds through all four speakers when playing two-channel (stereo) files like cd's/mp3's and similiar? Yes? Then choose one of the "4.1"-presets with "surround" parameter set to "On" or "Copy" (such as "4.1 front=rear" and "4.1 movie-mode") Or just turn "surround" on manually. |
