iR feature

Hello,

I've been trying to get the buttons on my Creative RM-1500 iR remote control working exactly as i'd like them to.
I've used a utility called scankey to find out the hexadecimal scan key values of each key so I could map it to !bang commands in LiteStep. This works ok with most of them , but some keys (CMSS, EAX, Mute, Vol Up/Down, media player control keys) do not respond because i think kX intercepts these and uses them to control Winamp directly instead. I know the iR part of kX is under construction (obvious if you open the iR control panel under kX), but is a feature considered where kX just activates the remote as-is - without mapping any keys to functions itself?

This would rock my little word immensely

Right click kX icon -> settings -> DISABLE "remote IR enabled"...that works for me...i use girder to controll my windows and software.../Eminos

Doesnt work for me, sadly. As soon as i do this the pc stops receiving ir commands.
Spose i could try and get girder to work, looks pretty confusing to set up initially.

So where do I get the driver for this RM-1500. I really need the Entertainment Center bundle but no luck. The Creative site really sucks.

Talk about reviving an old thread...

kX should support your remote without any additional drivers, but probably not in a
satisfactory manner.

I recommend installing Girder together with the MIDI sysex plugin and disabling kX iR support - after configuring the plugin, you can make Girder do just about anything.

Need any help with that, just ask
