3537 final
3537 final is finally out
there were certain changes compared to 3537 rc3 (in particular, any Audigy2 users are highly encouraged to re-download the 3537 final) any bug reports are welcome (as always) -- if there aren't any (at least, critical), we could finally name 3537 'latest stable' and start adding new features ![]() /Eugene |

Installed 3537's an hour ago or so. Been playing Morrowind since then, worked perfect so far. Gonna try Warcraft3 tomorrow if I got time.
Also had Winamp using the DirectX output plugin running in the background. Worked fine too. Gonna start playing through Noone lives forever 2 some day too. This time with sound. ![]() Seems like it's finally goodbye to 3534's for us with HT/SMP machines! ![]() I'm on an HT enabled P4, with a CT4832 as soundcard. As usual, great work! |

Just downloaded 3537. I've tried to set HW parameter 19 to 0 using KXCTRL -shw 19 0, but KXCTRL -ghw 19 reveals that nothing is changed. What am I doing wrong?

Thank You Eugene and kX Team,Outstanding work!!! I was able to record 3 stereo sources at the same time, with 2 on an Audigy 2 ZS, using kxctrl -sac97 2 0. Seperate mic in, ac97 2. The other source is from the line in of a SBlive wired to the cd spdif in of the Audigy. Worked perfect with Sonar Producer 3.1 using kX ASIO, all controled from the Audigy 2 ZS kX mixer. The kX drivers are a fine piece of work!!!

Back from a 3 hour session of Warcraft3. Works like a charm now!
Havent found anything else to complain about either. Feels like this release might cut it as the new stable one

I'm glad this release is fine -- let's wait, say, one-two weeks before changing its status to 'latest stable'/E |

No problems here. Gaming intensely with my SB-Live.
![]() I am continually amazed by how well the routing/surrounder works with converting 5.1 sound to my stereo speakers. With modern games increasingly supporting 5.1 sound effects I just have to enable it in a game and the ending result usually sound a lot better even as I only have stereo speakers. Simply awesome. All one could possibly ask for is better DirectSound3D positioning, but there's probably a lot of work required to go further into that increasingly complex field.

Great! Finally one that works with Multiprocessor setups again!!! Yeaaaha ;-P
Kudos to Eugene for all the hard work put into this project!!! However I've got one question: after installing the update, all my selfmade EQ presets vanished! :-( Is there any way to get them back? *sigh* ... I think I didn't experience this with other updates before.. but then I was still using 3534f because of the SMP probs. ;-) Thanks in advance! :-/ Cheers, -Sören |

conando, when you re-make your eq settings, save them as a separate file, so when you switch drivers you can just load them back (effects file and not kx setup file - there's an option in the effect plugin for this).

hello lads.
just installed 1st time drivers my self. But there is a mistake or something. i cannot seem to find the Kx control panel. going in the program directory i found a "kxctrl.exe" wich i thought was the responsible exe but when i tried to run it through CMD it gave me this: C:\Program Files\kX Project\3537>kxctrl kX Driver Control Program Copyright ® Eugene Gavrilov, 2001-2004. All rights reserved. Error initializing iKX interface (-1 - kX device not found) the installation went fine and i have no idea what went wrong. If any1 can help it would be usefull. |

Please use a separate thread in this kind of cases...
If the installations went correctly, there should appear a kX-icon in the lower-right corner of your screen (where you got the clock)...this is the kX-mixer, from where you controll the soundcard... Regular users should not need to care about the kxctrl.exe ...that's some kind of extra thing to start/stop extra featuers, and debugging and such... /Eminos |

Eminos, maybe you can tell me how to disable the AC97 to front out routing? I have tried using the command KXCTRL -shw 19 0, but KXCTRL -ghw 19 reveals that nothing is changed. I suspect this is a way to deal with some major feedback problems the Audigy (SB0090) has.

Hi,
The change log for kX driver 3537 says to use 'kxctrl -shw 19 1' to disable the AC97 to front. Try that instead of kxctrl -shw 19 0. buvoltz |

As I read it, it doesn't say:
"Added option to turn on/off AC97 to Front Speakers routing (for 10k2 cards: 'kxctrl -shw 19 1')" How do you turn the routing on, then

Hi,
I have not tried the command so you will have to ask Eugene or someone who has the info. I'm sure there is a command to turn it back on but if all else fails, just reset ac97. buvoltz |

kxctrl -shw 19 0
kxctrl -shw 19 1 these commands are used instead of any 'shw/ghw' stuff, they should also set AC97 master volume accordingly... in the next release, this option will be available as a user-friendly button (kX Mixer) /E |

Thanks Eugene. But are you saying that I shouldn't trust 'KXCTRL -ghw 19' ? It always returns '1'.

Hi Eugene and everyone.
Everytime I load a setting the sound is unusually lower. So when I click on the button 'Swap front and rear' in the mixer, the sound as expected is off. But when I click this button again to get the sound back it goes out really louder. Even I thing (although not sure) that there is any distortion so I have to put the levels in the mx6 down (not the power amp). Is this a bug Eugene? And when I mute 'Generic SPDIF Out' in the Ins 'n' Outs window the sound of the right channel disappear (I'm using the analogs outs only). I never used it so I don't know if this is an old bug or the bug is my brain itself. Please let me know if you want me to check anything else, like older versions or whatever. Apart of this everything seems to be perfect. ThanxNando |
