Does Winlirc remotes work or will they be supported?
Hi.
Built my own litlte cheap remote yesterday. Its using winlirc to translate the signals. I mapped all signals to match the ones in kxremote help file. Nothing happens when enabled. So does kx driver read winlirc signals? Are there any chanse to get support for it . Would be nice to use it as the regular seems to cover everything I wanna control and I dont need to buy software that does the same.(The remot works as i can setup winamp/bsplayer and controll them using remote). |

KX remote sends signals to the live/audigy drive which are then translated to midi events. You should check UICE (software to control computer via remote).

Well UICE is exaclty what I wanna avoid. As said earlier I would have preferd if kx could listen to WinLirc signals and do the same task as it does when getting signals from regular remote. But if thats never gonna happen Ill guess Ill have to make a choise 1: start aplications manually and configure them individually or 2: buy some cind of software that I think will be good that does support Winlirc signals and will do all I need.
And right now I dont feel like buying a software and will then have to live with manually starting my programs and then controll them. Is it a hard task to add support for winLirc as the controll part seems almost ready so all kx would need is being able to read commands sent out by winlirc trough winsocket in ascii format. Then basiclly do same thing as it does now. If KX gets a singal mening Mute it mutes sound. Ah well cant get everyhint the way you whant it. |
