STEINBERG CUBASE sample rate problem

Hi! Another problem again. What should I do..
I have working on this one cover song..
and I have a many unmixed tracks in cubase vst32.

I Decided to install again this KXproject and after installation I opened cubase
and there it says that SAMPLE RATE has changed to 48,000 KHz...
What should I do that I can change it back??

There isn't more choises to change that sample rate and audio clock source...

I have choose:

Asio driver
sample rate is: 48000 (has to bee lower!)
clock source: intrernal

Vellu
Finland

KX asio only records at 48khz. You can use 44khz (use the ASIO Control Panel to tweak it) but then you'll only have playback and not recording.

Hi!

Yes, this problem comes up from time to time. Try this:

Like Daniel said, switch ASIO down to 44.1 (via ASIO control panel). Then export all your waves into 48kHz waves (Master section, export audio, mute all tracks except the one you want so save, set locators a bit before and after the track to get all sounds, disable master fx, leave channel fx and automation selected, select stereo interleaved) and overwrite the old files (save your project folder before you do this). When all waves are exported, switch ASIO back to 48kHz, close your template and reload it. Now you can play all in 48kHz and you can record new tracks or remix your song.

Don't forget to set the track level fader to 0 db, otherwise it might be mixed down at a different level.

Yes! Of course! That´s right - the channel fader should be leaved there as it is - Master should be set to 0db!

What more can we expect from an SB Live!, a soundcard which so-called pro musicians have shun so many times, it has taken the luster out of it. We must not forget that not too long ago (say 15 years) we could not record even in 16 bit/44Khz without having to spend thousands of dollars on stand alone equipment that did not even have effects built-in (that would be other thousands of dollars), go back five more years and you could not even record in 8 bit, and your only option was hissy analog tape machines (I know, I was there then, splicing reel-to-reel tape!). I hear time and time again, from musician friends and on forums on the net, about the lack of higher ASIO bit rates and frequencies not supported on certain soundcards, namely the Sound Blaster line of cards, and I say to myself, why do people take for granted an SB Live! which nowadays costs only a meager $20 bucks! and could do things that 15 years ago people only dreamed of. I personally have an SB Live, and an Audigy, and have done full audio projects with vocals and all, and have not been let down by these cards- not to mention that I also use the great drivers from the KX Project which work flawlessly. I'll finish up by saying this: Recording in 16 bit/48 Khz is not a drawback, you gain by recording at a higher rate other than 44Khz, and if you wish to finish your projects in 16/44 (which you will ultimately have to if you want to burn to an audio disk), you can always use the myriad of sample conversion programs available for free on the net, that is if your audio Application does not already have it implemented. Did I also mentioned that nowadays buying a synth is not a sacrifice like it use to be for older folks wanting to get into music back in the days, now you just download a free VSTi from the net and start creating music- on your KX ASIO-enabled SB Live!!!! Dont let the 48Khz deter you from creating your art Shyron.

P.S.: Another way of dealing with 44Khz projects within Cubase in 48Khz ASIO, is to just sample convert your audio tracks to 48Khz. Like I said, you will gain by working at this higher rate.

48 is also the standard for DVD video, I dont think it was taken arbitrarily by the emu engineers
