MIC Wont work + Massive feedback

Okay I am currently having a problem with my mic and I have a sound blaster 5.1 card with the mic hooked into the sound blaster.

For some reason my mic seems to stay on constantly even when i am using program like ventrillo (where I have it set that i must press a key to activate the mic) and team speak for gaming and this has never happened before me swicthing to kx drivers. I am mostly a gamer and need voice communication.

When ever i seem to turn the volume up at all the speakers feedback with a bassy squealing type of sound and I cannot record my voice using ventrillos playback test mode. I can not seem to record or to eliminate the ultra noisy speaker feedback which must be attributed to the mic staying on constantly.

Any ideas?
