exclamation Note To New Forum Members

If you have a problem with a certain area of the kx project driver, please search this forum for an answer instead of asking a question which most likely has been answered before.
This will help both members of the kx team find the really odd problems quickly without having to wade through all the repeat questions from various people.
It may also prevent abuse from other members of this forum

I went into another forum, searched, found a thread similar to my problem, posted the question.
Then I was BLASTED, for using a OLD thread and NOT starting a new one even it was the same manufactures line, but 3 years newer!
The forum was DoItYourself and the subject was cars.

Did this happen on this site or are you talking about another site? If that type of thing happens on this site, please bring it up with one of the moderators. We do not condone that type of behavior here.

Another note. Don't just think of your DSP and soundcard drivers as software. Think in terms of the DSP window as being a hardware config. If you have an effect rack, and you put a reverb unit in, Does it work without an input or an output? Mic's and other recording units are the same thing. Just think of using a digital recorder, or real old school, a 4 track... if you add a mic, it doesn't record until you set the recorder to use it.

Alot of questions can be answered if you just think in terms of how you would set up a component in a real life rack situation.......

very good comparison there nightbreed… i am inclined to agree
but then there may be some uses like myself that have never used a real-life rack system

Only, the machines in a real rack have little NAMES on the ins and outs. I don't see any such labels in the kX DSP. That makes it very difficult when someone says "just rout it to the rec l&r in the DSP"...

The DSP seems really central and important when getting your music recording environment to work with kX. Too bad it is so cryptic and hard to grasp. Hopefully this will be solved with dj_stick's new guide.

I hope I don't come off as a whiney baby. I really like kX. It certainly is a very good idea, and has real potential - one only has to make it work.

the dsp does have names on each i/o, use the mouse and hover over each for a second or two and a tooltip will popup with the name
