WinTV Hauppauge no sound

Hi all,

i am quite impressed with this drivers, it all works flewless, except my TvTuner-Card (Hauppauge WinTV PCI Go)
i dont get any sound. i played with different settings in the mixer as well as in the Tv-application itself...but i dont get it.
What settings do i have to make within the kX Mixer and wich Audio Mixer Inputs should i choose within the TV-application?
i tried an awfull lot of combinations, maybe i missed something else?

Thanks in advance.

maybe i should add that i use a SB Audigy and that the tvcard is connected to the linein.

found it on another forum....
go under "ins and outs" and make sure to unmute the ac97 inputs
then go under the "ac97" tab and make sure to set it to line-in
that fixes it...

even though the kx drivers work well, there is pretty poor documentation on how to use it. under the "speaker setup" button, i still have no idea what VCenterA, VRearA, VRearW, VRearD all mean.

The solution to the problem...

Due in large part to http://members.home.nl/nahutec/kxtutor/kxtutor.html , I have figured out how to get the Line-In jack to play directly back over the speakrs (monitoring)

I highly recommend reading through that site to get a basic idea how of all this works. Save your default settings first!!!. You wouldn't want to mess up a few things and then end up with completely screwed up DSP settings....That could be very very discouraging.

I'm very new to the kX drivers and the DSP, but apparently that's where the power of the drivers resides. Complete control over routing and effects.

It's all about the DSP.

The basic idea here is to get AC97 (internal codecs for processing analog signal to digital info for the soundcard's processor to be able to process) to rout to the speakers so one can make the sound go directly from the LineIn jack of the soundcard, right back out through the speakers. This is how it's done

Open up the DSP window from the kX Manager.

In a semi-empty area, right click and select Add Effect/Plugin > ProFX > Src.
Now double click on the new Src box and select AC97 LineIn. Close that config window.

Next, right click on another empty area and go to Basic > Stereo Mix + Gain (gain because the WinTV's line output is rather quiet, we'll boost the gain after we start hearing sound.)

Now connect Src (Left) to Stereo Mix + Gain (In1L). Do the same with the Right channel. Hook it to In1R.

Now rout the Stereo Mix + Gain output (the blue box on the right of the stereomix box). Rout both out1L and out1R to corresponding in2_l and in2_r (if they're empty), if not, use in1_l and in1_r. Check to make sure the settings of FXMix2 are correct. Make sure the slider bar for In2Level are at 100%.

You can now turn up the gain (volume boost) of the stereo mix by moving the bar up from 0.0 to a positive number. Adjust to suite taste.

If anybody has any questions at all. Please don't hesistate to email my account.
