Sonar Audio/Mid Synch Issues
I have a Gateway2000 computer that came with an OEM Creative Labs Audigy sound card. I had been using thee audigy drivers which worked fine until I had to get a HD replaced. At that time, the audigy was not functioning properly, so I tried reinstalling the audigy drivers (serveral versions of them), but there were some big problems. Wave files played back fine as did windows sounds, but in Sonar, no sound could be heard on playback. The other odd thing was that the audigy outputs were listed as KX1km or something like that.
So then I learned about the KX project drivers and tried installing them. I am happy to report that I can now record and playback digital audio in Sonar (version 2.2 xl), however, the midi is not synched with the audio anymore. I found that if I adjust the timing offset (options|audio|advancced) in sonar to -55 msec that the difference is not very noticable, but I am wondering if I installed something wrong or have a driver setting incorrect. Now there is an odd jump in the midi tracks when I first start playing a sequence due to the timing offset. Other sonar settings for synching are: snych option is set to full chase lock, playback and record timing master are set to kxwave sb0095 10k2 [df80]0/1, and my clock source is set to audio. Anyone else having problems using the KX drivers and Sonar? Any ideas on why the audio and midi aren't snyching up without me doing an offset of -55msec? The only question I had during installation was on the screen that asked which drivers to install, and there was an option for a generic, then a something A option and a something B option. I selected the generic option. So let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks, Andrew V. Romero |
