For Acid 4.0, just go into 'Options' then 'Preferences' and on the 'Audio' tab set the "Audio Device Type" to "KX ASIO Driver" then click OK.... Acid will tell you that the sample rate or something along those lines arent supported, but dont worry about that.
Next, in the File menu click the Properties, and in the Project Properties dialoge click the audio tab and change the "Sample rate (Hz)" to 48,000 and check off the "Start all new projects with these settings" setting at the bottom of that page. Hope that helps......Peace |

If it's a midi Issue, make sure that in the Preference tab under midi that you have chosen a midi 'In' device... I dont think Acid automaticaly chooses one for you, you have to pick one yourself.

Thanks for the reply.
Went through the options and changed all the data relating to 48khz items, but none of this has changed the fact that I still can't record any midi data into ACiD. Why won'tthe Record light shine RED for me Does anyone have Sonic Foundrys' a.k.a Sonys' VMR (Virtual Midi Router) device selectable from within the midi preferences. I don't see it on my install and I never have seen it. I'm wondering if this is the 'missing link' to the problem. I've tried to download it from the Sony media site but it doesn't like the key from the disc. - oh what fun.Any other ideas to try out ? pilch |

the VMR use lies within the "virtual" part, it has nothing to do with hardware midi, it seems to me like it is a program that routes midi data to different software programs on the one machine, like midiyoke
