Multi Zone Output

Hi Guys,

These drivers seemed to be the answer to getting three zones from my audigy.

I have two instances of winamp, each out put set to a different kx. one is set to 0/1 and the other 4/5.

I move my speakers from output jack to output jack on the back of the card, but I get sound from all of the sockets, not just one.

hmmm.

Any help please?

Thanks,

Simon.

Thanks for the help.

Windows mixing is set for 5.1

The one in KX was set for 2.1

However, have changed it to all of the 5.1 choices, and it still seems that the same sound comes out of all the speaker sockets

in the programs you use… don't use 0/1 as that is all outputs, use 4/5 for front, 6/7 for rear and 8/9 for sub/center output usage

Thanks DJ.

I have tried all the settings, but the sound comes out from them all.

I still have my creative drivers installed, should I remove them?

I have tried the different drop downs under the surround menu, but it seems to make no differenaces.

If I could get this working I could get three zones of audio, and the users at www.xlobby.com would be all over it!!

Remove The Creative Drivers

If youre using the KX Audio Driver, you should have uninstalled the Creative drivers first! I'm sure dj_stick will give you a more informative answer.

Thanks DJ,

but the sound still comes out on all the inputs.

I suppose its going to be a case of reinstall, and not let the creative drivers anywhere near the system to start with.

Your routing/surrounder settings must be messed up... I don't think you have to reinstall, really. I'd do everything through the DSP, personally, connecting FXBus 4/5, 6/7, 8/9 pairs directly to epilog's 0/1, 8/9, 10/11 contacts. But that's just me...
PS. First make sure your surround mode is off.

yes set the surround to 5.1 but leave "Soround" setting to off… i think with some settings this will upmix stereo from 4/5 and send it out all outputs

Might you enlighten me please?

Thanks,

Ok, in the DSP window find the FXBus "rectangle". The numbers on the audio device you select (e.g. kx Wave 8/9) correspond to the pins on this rectangle (two pins are needed for stereo). Numbering starts with 0. Then find an "epilog" rectangle, which represents the outputs of your card. If you drag your mouse over the pins, it'll show you the corresponding output's name. So, first try connecting the 8/9 device on FXBus to the center/subwoofer outputs, which should be pins 10/11 on the epilog. Then, in your winamp or whatever select the 8/9 device. The music should be coming outta your sub jack in clean stereo. Enjoy
PS. If the scheme works, you can save the preset (there's a button on the DSP page). If something ain't right, you can always reset the settings to defaults, so don't worry.

if you are a little worried about the DSP… this guide should help you learn the basics of routing
note that the surrounder window in the mixer will be useless as you are bypassing it, good luck

I love you guys.

No, I really mean it. I love you guys.

It works!!!!

Thank you so much, now I dont need three sound cards in my pc!!!!

I did have a look for guides, but never found that.
Is there somewhere that further explains all those lovely things I could spend hours connecting together?

A very greatful Simon

I have lost my digital out, via the front panel expansion thing.

I tried to find which ones to map to which one, but with no luck.

But, by hitting the clear dsp button, it all started to work!

Could you let me know what to plug to what, or where I can learn for myself so I can stop bothering u all.

thanks.

as yet there is no documentation yet on the dsp… but some of the other users will be more knowledgeable about the DSP than me…

Look for SPDIF pins on the epilog. There may be 2 or 3 different SPDIF's, because the card has several digital outputs, you'll have to experiment. You can connect to it from FXBus directly, too.

Take a llok at the mixe too, because when you reset the DSP, some settings in the mixer are ressted too.
