Owch, my ears

Using SB Audidy 2, installed this driver when I found the updated one from creative caused my mic to transmit nothing but static over teamspeak.

After changing settings around, the mic works with the KX drivers over TS.

However I now get jumpy sound, pops and generally unpleasant glitches especially when playing a game. Music jumps ahead, multiple sounds being played seem to trigger the popping and crackling noises. I also have 4 similarly-named but seemingly different output devices to choose from, which is just confusing.

Any advice? I don't want to have to dig out the SB CD and stick the old drivers back on.

Thanks for the reply, even though that link doesn't work I just guessed my way to the documents page on the kx home site.

tbh I think I'll take this driver off and find the original creative drivers that were working before. All I want from my soundcard is to sound nice and work properly with minimum fuss, these drivers seem heavily heared toward PC audiophiles and musicians. Not for me I don't think, I'm not that interested in the inner workings of my soundcard and the tweaking features of the KX - put it on because it was recommended to me to fix the mic issue with TS. Got a bit more than I expected.

Ah, from what it says there it looks like I might be able to eliminate the pops by raising the latency a bit.

Although this depends entirely on whether or not I can find the AIO control panel screenshotted here...

Thanks, I'll try that when I stop the reinstalled kx drivers from bluescreening my system.

I'd forgotten how much fun drivers can be :P
