Noisy kX front out vs quiet ALSA front out

Both kX and Creative drivers output loud noise ( ~ -87 dB ) to front output regardless of AC97 settings.
Is it possible to remove that noise?
ALSA (Linux) driver doesn't produce it.
It isn't Windows-specific, as it doesn't happen if soundcard drivers are disabled.

Doomsayer is on a distinguished road

I'm pretty sure AC97 is to blame. Try experimenting with the DSP - e.g. disconnect Prolog completely. Also, what about the rear output?

Rear output isn't noisy in both configurations.
Disconnecting everything (like cleaning DSP) doesn't help.

I don't know if it's revelant, but ALSA drivers have a weird 'feature': midi is audible only on front output.

Maybe there's some builtin AC97 (noisy) amplifier enabled?
Front output is louder than rear in kX drivers...
