same question here... I used to use kX but I'm thinking about EAX now... so right now I'm using Creative drivers as I have not problem with them but it would be more flexible with kX

Using the kX drivers for gaming. It's definitely worth sacrificing EAX to not have those Creative drivers cluttering the system with an unusable mixer and different applications you're never gonna use anyways.

At least for me using a good set of 2.1 speakers (essentially stereo), the kX project drivers work very well for gaming. The loss of being able to turn on EAX in games doesn't feel like too big a sacrifice. I only have a SB-Live though, so maybe with a hot Audigy2 it would be fun to try the very latest EAX3 mode that some games support. On the other hand, turning on EAX in some games has created issues even with the hottest cards and drivers from Creative, like performance loss in the recent BattleField:V. The kX drivers has a nice little bonus in how they excel at routing a 5.1 source to stereo speakers, and quite a few new games like FarCry sport 5.1 surround options nowadays. Not to mention movies.
