Optimal recording and playback

Hi,

I've been a content kX user for a while now, but only recently i've begun messing around with the DSP and plugins to achieve optimal performance.

So far I've gotten nice results (building a bare bones DSP setup from scratch, only hooking up the connections i need, inserting plugins (noise gates on my line in for recording) but what is still confusing to me is how to use the Wave HQ device (I use a Audigy 2 Platinum ZS)

If i understand correctly, the better codec to use is the IS2 (intsead of the AC97), which is by default connected to the rear out of the card (and this represents the Wave HQ device, to have true 24/96 recording and playback)

Are there any good dsp setup guides available? The ones on the kX site aren't very clear about a couple of things...
