gameport joystick problem
i've searched these forums for similar problems... but i couldn't fine one like this
in flight simulator 2002, the joystick would work with the creative drivers after installing kx, and using the kx gameport driver, the joystick would still come up in the "game controllers" in the control panel, but it would no longer work in flight simulator 2002 (i've tried reinstalling the game controller to make sure it realizes that it is using a different driver) so i rolledback the game port driver to the creative driver - i checked to make sure it was the same version and all... still the joystick does not work in flight simulator... though it still comes up and works in the "game controllers" control panel the only way i've been able to get the joystick to work is by totally removing kx and using the creative audio drivers and the creative joystick drivers any ideas? thanks in advance |

the game port *should* be a totally different hardware object to the audio card… i'm not quite sure why this is happening… have you tried using another joystick in another game?

Gameport problem
I've just installed KX drivers OK, had a Midi delay problem in Cubase that's gone,
but I've just noticed that the joystick is dead ('not connected') in Combat Flight Sim V1. I need KX for low latency VST instruments in Cubase, but it would be nice to have a blast on Combat Flight Sim without having to remove/reload drivers did you ever get to the bottom of this? thanks RGC_911 |

Is there a 'KX 10K2 Audio - Game Port' driver in the 'Sound & Audio Devices' coontrol panel applet?
Is it in error? In WinXP Try re-installing just this driver: R-Click on My Computer -> Select 'Properties' -> Select 'Hardware' Tab -> Press 'Device Manager' Button -> Open 'Sound and Audio Device' tree. click the (+). Something there should say 'game port' here. - > Right click on that, and choose 'Update Driver' Then... 1) Answer 'NO - Not This Time' for search -> 2) Answer 'Install From List or Specific Location (Advanced)' -> 3) Answer 'Dont Search - I'll choose the driver to install' -> 4) Choose 'KX 10KX Audio - Game Port' -> let it install and re-boot if necessary - I would anyway. Then - make sure you see the joystick in the 'Game Controllers' control panel applet. I think, if theres 2 game devices - some games may *auto select* the wrong joystick/gamepad. - Thus you need to selct your 'Prefered Device' in the 'ADVANCED' button of the Game Controller CP applet. Hope that helps... Last edited by Maddogg6; Jan 2, 2006 at 07:17 PM. |

Soundblaster still dead
I've restored a pre kx install ghost image and the Joystick is still 'not connected'.
Coincidentally my DVD writer died at the same time - proper dead - doesn't work in my Win98 pc either Can't test the joystick on that box as it has APS on Live installed Has the KX install flashed my Soundblaster and killed it? cheers Cookie |
