Hi - I have logitech z680 speakers, and want to to use stereo x2 so that the rear speakers emit the same as the front 2. I am using coaxial connected to the audigy 2 digital out, and the z680 pod is set to stereo x2. What settings do i need to do in the drivers so stereo x2 works? I tried fiddling with no luck (tried the test multiple times after each change). All i want is to be able to listen to music from winamp in stereo x2, and not fake 3d surround.
Thanks for any help Priesh |

If you're using digital interface between your sound card and the speakers, it's your speakers where you have to enable stereo x2. It's impossible to send "stereo x2" signal through S/PDIF, unless it is AC3.

do the speakers decode ac-3 (dolby digital) or do they have more than one digital input? or is it using the custom keyboard-plug-style connector?

I'd suggest hooking them up via analog cables, then you'll be able to control each channel through kX (and have stereo x2). And I don't think you'll lose any sound quality by doing so, because your Audigy 2 is good enough.

if you go the analog way, in the DSP find the eq module in the top right, and connect its left and right outputs to the epilogs rear left and rear right inputs (respecting left to left and right to right) this should automatically create 2x stereo

Thanks for the help. I'll try switching to analog later.
The speakers accept 6 channel analog, optical digital and coaxial digital - i'm using the coaxial with a miniplug connected to the audigy 2. The inputs can only be selected one at a time, and each has a set of "effects" (stereo, stereo x2, dolby surround music, dolby surround movie). I dont really like the dolby surround modes as they dont sound right. The control centre decodes dolby digital and DTS. Cheers Priesh |
