N.I.'s Guitar Rig crashes with kX drivers
Hi,
Just thought I'd report that Native Instrument's latest offering, Guitar Rig, crashes with kX drivers. I have an Audigy and have tried 3537 and 3534 drivers - both cause Guitar Rig to die on startup :-(... I'm going to try the APSLive drivers next, as they are, to the best of my knowledge, the only other ASIO drivers that can offer latency of lower than 10ms. Will let you know how I get on. Aneng. |

The crashes appear to be a common issue that's not really tied to one specific driver or sound card. Most of what I've seen it's been crashes when it's used as a stand alone. Others have the crashes this way and at the same time it works fine as a vst. I think you're probably gonna have to keep an eye out for an update to the program as apose to changing drivers.

opposite in my place:
multiple crashes as DX, and very stable work as standalone must admit - kX drivers works perfect - very low latency (5ms) even with high CPU load (when using more complex presets in Guitar Rig) and yes - NI says that update to 1.1 will be avaliable next week |

Yeah, usually with N.I. it goes that way. I think they keep the same model as far as soundcards go. I remember how it was when Kontakt first came out..lol.. but they eventually iron things out. For me, the standalone worked great. Also the vst portion. I hadn't tryed it as a DX.
Just, when you get crashes, don't just switch soundcard drivers, send the companies the bug reports and such so they can work on fixes. |
